Falcons Clipped By Buccaneers
Peirce and Pease combine for 43 digs for Falcons in MASCAC setback
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to the Buccaneers of Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening at the Parkinson Gymnasium.

How It Happened
Freshman libero Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H.) led the way for the Green and Gold with a match-best 33 digs, one assist, two service aces and one kill, while senior Serene Pease (Ashland, Mass.) added ten digs. Newcomer Lauren Riccardi (Tewksbury, Mass.) was also solid for the Green and Gold, finishing with six kills, seven digs, one assist and one block.
For Mass. Maritime, sophomore libero Tina Ruggeri (Bourne, Mass.) finished with a team-leading 31 digs, one assist and four service aces, while sophomore Michelle Sheehan (Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in with 14 assists, 12 digs and one service ace. Sophomore Marie Harrison (Weymouth, Mass.) put forth a strong showing for the Buccaneers as well, registering a game-leading 17 kills, ten digs, one assist and one service ace.
