Joubert and Peirce combine for 13 assists and 13 digs in non-conference setback 

Chicopee, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team suffered a tough 3-1 setback to the Wildcats of Bay Path College in non-conference action this evening at the First Baptist Church Gymnasium.

How It Happened

Freshman setter Perry Joubert (Seekonk, Mass.) paced the Falcons with a team-best 13 assists, two digs and one service ace, while classmate Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H.) added 11 digs, and one kill. Senior Kathryn McGroarty (Quincy, Mass.) put forth a solid effort for the Green and Gold as well, finishing with ten assists, four service aces and three digs.

For Bay Path, junior setter Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) registered a game-best 27 assists, one kill and two service aces, while senior Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) chipped in with 18 kills, four digs, three service aces and two assists. Newcomer Cameille Keith (Pawtucket, R.I.) rounded out the top efforts for the Wildcats, collecting one kill, one service ace and four digs for the hosts.

Just second meeting between two schools on the volleyball court with the Falcons 0-2 when taking on the Wildcats.
