Salem, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Vikings of Salem State University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Conference (MASCAC) action at the Twohig Gymnasium.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was led by junior Annie Woolley (Malden, Mass.) with a team-best five kills and one dig, while senior Serene Pease (Ashland, Mass.) chipped in with eight digs and one service ace. Junior Kristina Osborne (Ashby, Mass.) was also solid for the Green and Gold, registering five digs, one solo block and a pair of service aces.

For Salem State, junior Mackenzie Sells (Turners Falls, Mass.) finished with a game-best 19 assists, six service aces and two digs, while classmate Samantha Chaisson (Duxbury, Mass.) added six kills, five service aces and two digs. Senior Hannan Mullarkey (Salem, Mass.) aided the Vikings with four digs.

This afternoon's contest marks the first meeting between two schools in volleyball since Nov. 6, 2002.

Salem State has won last four contest with Fitchburg State. Falcons last win over Vikings occurred on Oct. 9, 1997.
