Worcester, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's volleyball team dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions to the Cougars of Clark University and the Brewers of Vassar College in a tri-match, hosted by Clark University at the Kneller Center on Saturday afternoon.

This afternoon's contest marked the eighth meeting between the two teams on the volleyball court with the Falcons 2-6 all-time when taking on the Cougars.
Clark has won three of the last four matchups with Fitchburg State collecting a 2-0 victory in the last meeting on Sept. 21, 1999 at the Kneller Center
Fitchburg State was led by graduate student Lauren Riccardi (Tewksbury, Mass.) with three kills, six assists, three solo blocks and four blocking assists, while freshman Samantha Mirra ()Burlington, Mass.) registered a match best 15 assists, four kills and two service aces.
Senior Leah Sheehan (Billerica, Mass.) chipped in 13 assists, three kills, two service aces, one solo block and five blocking assists, while graduate student Perry Joubert (Seekonk, Mass.) added six assists and five digs for the Green and Gold.

This afternoon's contest marked first ever meeting between the Falcons and the Brewers on the volleyball court
The Falcons were paced by Riccardi with two kills, two solo blocks, one assist and five digs, while sophomore Emily Gelinas (Westfield, Mass.) finished with seven digs, one kill, four assists, two service aces and two solo blocks.
Mirra and Sheehan chipped in with three kills, one service and four digs each, while senior Amy Coelho (Bellingham, Mass.) registered a team-beast 12 digs for the Green and Gold.
