Falcons Shine At NCAA DIII NE Regional Championships
Kelly and Bowman pace Fitchburg State
Gorham, Maine. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team returned to action this weekend, placing 43rd overall at the 2017 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine this afternoon.

How It Happened
Junior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass.) continued her stellar 2017 campaign for the Falcons, turning in a time of 24:33.7, while newcomer Kambrynn Bowman (Norton, Mass.) followed with a time of 25:01.6 over the 6K layout.
Junior Casey Taylor (Chelmsford, Mass.) was next into the Chute for the Green and Gold, crossing the finish line in 25:03.7, while senior Nicole Gaffney (Paxton, Mass.), classmate Shawna Ryan (Hanson, Mass.) and junior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass.) rounded out the top efforts for Fitchburg State on the afternoon with times of 25:35.4, 26:30.0 and 29:50.2 respectively.
Inside the Numbers
Fitchburg State placed 53rd overall at last year's NCAA DIII NE Regional Championship Meet with a total of 1,578 points.
MIT won the 2017 NCAA DIII New England Regional Cross Country Championship Meet after registering 58 points.
Freshman Kaitlyn Mooney (Manahawkin, N.J.) of the Coast Guard Academy took top honors at this afternoon's meet, entering the chute in 20:22.6.
