Dartmouth, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team returned to action this weekend, competing in the 2018 Corsair Cross Country Invitational on the campus of UMass Dartmouth this morning.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was paced by senior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), who placed 61st overall with a time 19:57.6 over the 5k course, while freshman Savannah Wojcik (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) crossed the finish line with a time of 24:03.3

Senior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) was next to enter the chute for the Falcons with a time of 25:18.2, while newcomer Nyasia Torres (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) following with a time of 25:31.5. Sophomore Rebbecca O'Brien (Methuen, Mass./Woburn) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold, tuning in a time of 28:01.0

Inside the Numbers

Fitchburg State finished 27th overall at last year's UMass Dartmouth Invitational after amassing 730 points.

The Judges of Brandeis University won the meet with a total of 56 points

Brandeis senior Emily Bryson (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) took top honors at the 2018 Corsair Cross Country Invite with a time of 17:54.6.
