Williamstown, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country competed at the 2018 Purple Valley Invitation this morning, placing ninth overall with a total of 241 points at Mount Greylock High School.

Fitchburg State was led by freshman Savannah Wojcik (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) , who placed 75th overall with a time 25:20.9 over the 5k course, while classmate Nyasia Torres (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) crossed the finish line with a time of 26:10.0.
Senior Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) followed into the chute with a time of 26:29.3 while sophomore Melony Ellis (West Yarmouth, Mass./West Yarmouth) posted a time of 30:59.1. Freshman Breanna Lizotte (Hudson, Mass./Hudson) rounded out the top finishers for the Green and Gold, turning in a time of 32:19.2,

Williams College freshman Grace Dailey (Forest Knolls, Calif./Branson School) won the meet, posting a time of 20:04.1.
