Falcons Race At NCAA DIII NE Regional Championships

Kelly leads Falcons with time of 24:28.4

Brunswick, Maine. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team completed at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships this afternoon, hosted by Bowdoin College.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was paced by senior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass./Stoughton), a time of 24:28.4, while classmate Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass./Beverly) followed with a time of 29:30.7 over the 6K layout.

Freshman Nyasia Torres (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) was next into the chute, posting a time of 29:46.6, while newcomers Savannah Wojcik (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) (30:12.4) and Breanna Lizotte (Hudson, Mass./Hudson) (33:22.4) closed out the top effort for Green and Gold on the day.

Inside the Numbers

Fitchburg State did not run at last year's NCAA DIII New England Regional Championships.  

MIT won the 2018 NCAA DII NE Regional Championships with a total of 78 points.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Mooney (Manahawkin, N.J./Marion Military Academy) of the Coast Guard Academy placed first overall at the 2018 NCAA DIII NE Regional Championships with a time of 20:43.8.
