Women’s Cross Country Races to a Third Place at Cardinal Invite

Goba paces Green and Gold with ninth place time of 20:51.08

Middletown, Conn. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed third overall with a total of 82 points at the 2023 Wesleyan Cardinal Invitational at the Wes Fuhrman Trails Cross Country Course.

How It Happened

Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) paced the Falcons, finishing eight overall with a time of 20:51.08 over the 5K layout, while freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) placed 16th at 26:13.63.

Newcomer Julia Arena (Shrewsbury, MA) entered the chute with an 18th place time of 26:13,63, while sophomore Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) finished in 21st place at 28:40.67.

Sophomore Shamya Boulware McKnight (Hartford, CT) rounded out the top Falcon efforts on the day, posting a time of 47:11.84.
