Sharon Lowry - 1998 Inductee

Sharon Lowry, the 1984-85 FSC Female Athlete of the Year, is regarded as FSC's best field hockey goaltender of all-time. In her phenomenal freshman season, Lowry played in 21 games and posted 10 shutouts with a 1.50 goals against average. Her outstanding play landed her on the All-MASCAC First Team. The Falcons finished that season with a 15-3-3 mark. During her sophomore season, Lowry recorded eight shutouts, including the first seven contests. The Falcons finished with an 11-5 record and earned a berth in the MAIAW Tournament. Lowry was named as a NEFHA All-Star as well as a National All-Star. In her junior year, she established the school- record with a 1.00 goals against average and registered 122 saves in 21 games. For her efforts, she was named to the New England College All-Star Team. Lowry again dominated between the pipes by duplicating her 1.00 goals against average from her junior season. She recorded 150 saves, including six shutouts in 18 games and was named as a NEFHA All-Star. Lowry was a four-year starter for the Falcons, posting the best career goals against average of 1.18 and a career record of 43-27-8 with 34 shutouts.
