Kelley Named LEC Offensive Player Of The Week

Pepperell, Mass. Native collects second weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (October 30, 2012) – Senior Jamie Kelley (Pepperell, Mass./North Middlesex) collects her second weekly honor of the season after being named the Little East Conference’s (LEC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.

Kelley led the Falcons offensively, totaling 13 points on six goals and one assist in a 2-1 week for the Fitchburg State field hockey team. The senior forward registered seven points on three goals and one helper in Fitchburg State’s 5-2 victory over River University on Tuesday evening before adding three scores in the Falcons 4-3 overtime win against conference rival Worcester State on Saturday morning.

With the 13 points, Jamie closed out her career, ranking first all-time in career assists with 33, while also ranking second all-time in goals (41) and points (115).

The Fitchburg State field hockey team concluded its 2012 season with an overall record of 7-11 and a 3-8 mark in the Little East Conference.
