Dartmouth, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Sophia Sousa (Dartmouth, Mass.) was recently named Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first year Falcon earns her first weekly accolade of the season after collecting her first collegiate score for Fitchburg State in a 3-1 setback to the Pilgrims of New England College on Friday at Elliot Field.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (0-1, 0-0 LEC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Colby-Sawyer College for a non-conference tilt, starting at 3:00 PM..
