Lamprey Selected LEC Field Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Cherry Valley, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman goalkeeper Colleen Lamprey (Cherry Valley, Mass.) was recently tabbed Little East Conference (LEC) Field Hockey Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first year Falcon nets her first weekly accolade on the season after posting 59 saves with an .831 save percentage and a 3.62 goals against average in three games for the Green and Gold. Lamprey turned aside 15 shots in a setback to WPI on Tuesday before adding a new Fitchburg State single game record of 29 saves in a 1-0, double overtime loss to Rivier on Thursday. Concluded the week, making 15 saves in a 3-0 setback to Plymouth State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State field hockey team (1-7, 0-2 LEC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Western Connecticut State on Wednesday to take on the Colonials for a Little East Conference tilt, starting at 7:00 PM.
