McGrath Named MASCAC Ice Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Worcester, Mass. native collects third weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore goaltender Brian McGrath (Worcester, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Goalie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year goaltender posted 67 saves with a .944 save percentage and a 2.00 goal against average in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. McGrath made 23 saves in a 5-1 triumph over Salem State on Thursday before adding 44 stops in a 53 victory against Westfield State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (12-10-2, 9-6-2 MASCAC) returns to on Tuesday evening as they travel to Worcester State to take on the Lancers for a conference tilt, starting at 6:00 PM.
