McGrath Selected MASCAC Ice Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Worcester, Mass. native earns third weekly honor on the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Brian McGrath (Worcester, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The third-year falcon collects her third weekly honor of the year after totaling 65 saves with a .985 save percentage and a .050 goals against average in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. McGrath stopped all 32 shots he faced in a 7-0, shutout victory against Becker on Wednesday before making 33 saves in a 3-1 triumph over Salem State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Ice Hockey team (8-5-2, 5-1-2 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as it hosts the Rams of Framingham State University for a MASCAC matchup, starting at 7:00 PM.
