How It Happened

Fitchburg State nearly opened the scoring at 8:54 mark of the middle frame when junior Nicholas Weber (Peoria, AZ) fired a shot that hit the post to keep the contest scoreless.

In the third period of play, the Owls doubled the lead midway through the stanza with Chrisafideis receiving a pass from Carney and putting a shot inside the near post for his second marker of the contest to make the score 2-0.
