FITCHBURG, Mass. – Senior forward Conor Murtagh registered a pair of goals as the Bears of Bridgewater State defeated Fitchburg State University, 3-0 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's soccer action at this afternoon at Elliot Field.

With his two goals and four points Murtagh moved into a tied for seventh place on the Bears all-time career points list with 58, while senior keeper Colin Jepson earned his fourth straight shutout and eighth shutout of the season for Bridgewater State. After a scoreless first-half of soccer, the visiting Bears took ahold of the lead 52 minutes into play when senior Justin Kachadoorian fired a shot 25 yards out past the outstretched gloves of Falcon keeper Alex Al-Zaibak and finding the net for his first goal of the season, giving Bridgewater State the 1-0 advantage.

Bridgewater State doubled their lead (2-0) seven minutes later with Murtagh's first finish of the contest. The senior forward received a corner from newoomer Diego DelasCasa and sent it home for his 11th marker of the year.
