Bedard nets first collegiate tally in non-conference setback
Providence, R.I. – The Fitchburg State men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-2 decision to the Anchormen of Rhode Island College this evening in non-conference action from Alumni Field.

How It Happened
Rhode Island College opened the scoring at the 25:39 mark as freshman Thomas Aldana (Providence, R.I.) gathered a feed from sophomore Brandon Ramos (Boston, Mass.) and found the back of the net for his sixth mark on the season for the 1-0 margin.
The Anchormen doubled their edge (2-0) roughly one minute later when Ramos connected on his sixth tally of the year on assists from junior Sa-Leem Kamarah (Providence, R.I.) and Aldana. Fitchburg State answered back in the 36th minute of action with sophomore David Bedard (Westminster, Mass.) receiving a pass from senior Christian Lucchesi (Tewksbury, Mass.) , who then connected on his first collegiate tally to make the score 2-1 going into the break.
Following the intermission, Rhode Island College upped its advantage at the 47:25 mark as Ramos netted his second goal on the evening, before the Falcons cut the deficit to 3-2 when freshman Alexander Loyd (Kingston, Mass.) notched his team-leading 12th marker of the 2019 campaign.
