Bio

Dmitri Strunkin is in his eighth season as an assistant coach of the Fitchburg State men's soccer program.

Strunkin came to Fitchburg State in 2010, bringing with a wealth of coaching knowledge, including ten years at the Massachusetts club and youth level. Prior to joining the Falcons, Strunkin served as an assistant coach for the College of the Holy Cross men's soccer team. During his tenure, he helped lift the Crusaders to a 15-14-2 record overall and a 3-9-2 clip in the Patriots League.   

In addition to his coaching knowledge, Strunkin also brings with him a wealth of professional experience. On the field, Strunkin played professionally for the Connecticut Wolves Pro-Soccer Club. During his time, he received an invitation to play for the New England Revolution of the MLS. Prior to his time in Connecticut, he spent the 2001 season with the New Hampshire Phantoms Pro-Soccer Club. Strunkin's soccer experience also extends internationally, having played two years for Dynamo Stavropol, in the Second Division of the Professional Football League in Russia, and two years for Zenit (St.Petersburg) Professional Football Club in the Premier League.

A long time mentor and coach, Strunkin has also served as the Camp Director of the Star Goalkeeper Academy in New Britain, Conn. for four years, while also instructing at various MLS camps. He currently holds several licenses, including his NSCAA National Youth Diploma and his NSCAA Goalkeeping Level I license.

Strunkin earned a Master's degree in Business Administration at Northeastern University in 2004 and is a 1998 graduate of the University of Economics and Finance at St. Petersburg in Russia. He currently resides in Sterling, Mass.
