Digman Named MITK MASCAC Rookie Of The Week

Winchendon, Mass. native collects his second weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Adam Digman (Winchendon, Mass.) was tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.

The first-year Falcon notches his second weekly honor on the year after finishing eighth in the heptathlon with a DIII New England qualifying total of 4,162 points. With those 4,162 points, Adam set a new school record in the heptathlon, surpassing the previous record of 4,157 points, held by former Falcon standout Cameron Stalters, set in 2017.

Digman placed first in the shot put (11.73m), second in the 60 meter hurdles (8.59), third in the 60 meter dash (7.40), seventh in the long jump (5.86m), tenth in the pole vault (3.00m), tenth in the high jump (1.63m) and tenth in the 1000 meter (3:05.65) at the 2020 Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts this past weekend.

The Fitchburg State men's indoor track team returns to action on Saturday as the Falcons compete at Brown University for a meet starting at 10:00 AM.
