McWhinnie-Armstead Named MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Co-Field Athlete Of The Week

Lowell, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Christian McWhinnie-Armstead (Lowell, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Outdoor Co-Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year Falcon picks up his first weekly accolade on the season after placing first overall in the high jump with an Open New England qualifying mark of 2.07 meters as Fitchburg State hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at Elliot Field on Saturday. Currently Ranked fourth in the nation in the event.

The Fitchburg State men's outdoor track and field team returns to action this weekend as the Falcons compete at Connecticut College for meet starting on Friday at 4:00 PM.
