Framingham, Mass. – The fourth seeded Falcons of Fitchburg State University defeated the sixth seeded Lancers of Worcester State University, 3-0 this afternoon in semifinal round action of the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Maple Street Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring in the bottom of the first as freshman Audrey Johnson (Fitchburg, Mass.) singled to left field to plate senior Michelle LeBlanc (Ashburnham, Mass.) for the 1-0 edge.
The Falcons doubled their margin (2-0) in the bottom half of the third when newcomer Olivia Pietersen (Norton, Mass.) laced an RBI single to right that brought home Johnson. The Green and Gold tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth as senior Maddie Medina (Pelham, N.H.) ripped a single to left that scored classmate Samantha Woodman (Essex, Mass.), resulting in the 3-0 final.
