Mitchell Named MASCAC Women's Soccer Rookie Of The Week

Millbury, Mass. native collects second weekly accolade of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore midfielder Mikaela Mitchell (Millbury, Mass./Millbury) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon picks up her second weekly honor of the season after posting five points on two goals scored and one helper in two contests for the Green and Gold. Mitchell netted one score and one assist in a 3-2 overtime setback to Elms on Wednesday before adding one marker in a 2-0 triumph against Mass. Maritime on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State men's soccer team (2-2-1, 1-0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Dean College to take on the Bulldogs for a contest starting at 3:30 PM.
