MASCAC Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams Announced

Quincy Taylor selected to MASCAC All-Conference Second Team

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore forward Quincy Taylor (Boston, Mass.) was named to the 2021-22 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Basketball All-Conference second-team as voted on by the league's seven head coaches.

Taylor led the Falcons in scoring with 220 points on 89-of-166 shooting from the field (53.6%) to go along with 262 rebounds, 15 steals, 25 assists and 14 blocked shots.

Graduate student Sean Bryan of Salem State University garnered MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year honors, while Westfield State junior Brendon Hamilton was named MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Ryan Rubenskas of Worcester State was selected the 2021-22 MASCAC Rookie of the Year, while Westfield State head coach Rich Sutter was tabbed the Champion's Choice Coach of the Year as voted on by his peers.

Joining Bryan and Hamilton on the All-Conference First Team were Worcester State's Erik Bjorn and Chris Cardoso as well as Justin Rennis of Westfield State.

In addition to Taylor, landing on the All-Conference Second Team were Hayden Bird, Quentin Gittens and Noah Yearsley from MCLA and Connor Byrne of Salem State.

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's first Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC core member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013.
