Bergeman Named MASCAC Ice Hockey Player Of The Week

Newark, Del. native notches first weekly honor of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior forward Rece Bergeman (Newark, Del.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The third-year Falcon nets his first weekly accolade on the season after posting seven points on three goals and four assists over two games for Fitchburg State. Bergeman netted his first collegiate hat trick as well as two helpers in an 8-0, shutout victory over Salem State on Thursday before adding a pair of assists in a 3-1 triumph against Framingham State on Saturday evening.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (2-0-0, 2-0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as they host the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth in MASCAC action, starting at 6:00 PM.
