How It Happened

The Corsairs tipped the scoreboard first when grad student Dillon Radin (Long Beach, NY) found junior Austin Miller (Meridian, Idaho) in the slot for his third goal of the season. Less than two minutes later the Falcons evened the match when Hunter Fortin (Westerville, Ohio), sitting on the back door, knocked in a pass from junior Anthony Ceolin (Simsbury, Mass.) past the UMD goaltender.

UMass Dartmouth broke the stalemate with a goal from junior Justin Weinbrenner (Allison Park, Penn.) at the 18:20 mark, however the Green and Gold answered with a power-play score from junior Joshua Miller (Saint Augustine, Fla.) with seven ticks remaining in the frame.

The teams traded goals in the second period. The Corsairs took their third lead of the game capitalizing on the man-advantage when senior Jimmy Pelton (Syracuse, NY) notched a power-play goal midway through the stanza. The Falcons knotted the score at 3-apiece just before the end of the period. Breaking out of the defensive zone freshman Thomas Harty (Billerica, Mass.) found Zackery Diamont (Billerica, Mass.) streaking down the right wing where the newcomer deposited his first collegiate goal at 19:53.

Junior Rece Bergeman (Newark, Del) would score the game-winner when he collected the juicy rebound off the pads of UMD's netminder Daniel Davidson (Surrey, B.C.) and deposited his fourth goal of the season for the power-play goal.
