How It Happened

After a scoreless first period in which Franklin Pierce held the shots advantage 11-8, the Ravens tipped the scoreboard early in the second frame. Junior Conor Foley (Nahant Mass.) picked the pocket of the Falcons defense circled behind the net and tucked the puck under senior Christopher Mattone (New Windsor, NY) just :50 seconds in.

The Falcons countered with a pair of power-play goals. Junior Gene Bouthiette (Enfield, Conn.) collected the rebound off the pads of the Ravens goaltender and found the back of the net for his second goal of the year. Wyatt Wilmshurst (Massena, NY) and Rece Bergeman (Newark, Del.) had the assists.

Less than two minutes later junior Joshua Miller (Saint Augustine, Fla.) delivered a seeing eye slap-shot inside the left post from the blueline for the Green and Gold's first lead of the game and the game-winning goal.

Fitchburg would add a pair or empty-net goals from junior Hunter Fortin (Westerville, Ohio) and Toivo Kramer (New York, NY) to seal the 4-1 victory.
