Falcons Blank Rams in MASCAC Action

Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's ice hockey team skated to a 4-0 victory over the Rams of Framingham State University in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon at the Loring Arena.

How It Happened

After a scoreless first period, the Falcons wasted little time taking the lead in the second frame. Junior Hunter Fortin (Westerville, Ohio) found classmate Anthony Ceolin (Simsbury, Conn.) for the backhand and the 1-0 lead just 20 seconds in. The Falcons doubled the lead (2-0) five minutes later as Gene Bouthiette (Enfield, Conn.) notched his fourth goal of the season off a helper from Egan Wolford (San Jose, Calif.). Junior Wyatt Wilmshurst (Massena, NY) extended the Fitchburg State lead to 3-0 after the middle period.

Bouthiette would seal the win for the Green and Gold with a shorthanded tally at 13:29 of the third period. Senior netminder Brian McGrath (Worcester, Mass.) earned the ninth shutout of his career with 19 saves on the afternoon.
