Fortin Named MASCAC Ice Hockey Player Of The Week

Westerville, Ohio native earns second weekly accolade on the year 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior forward Hunter Fortin (Westerville, Ohio) was selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The third-year Falcon earned his second conference weekly honor on the season after collecting five points on three goals and two assists, including a pair of game winners in a 3-0 week for the Green and Gold. Fortin two goals and one helper in a 5-1 victory over UMass Dartmouth on Tuesday before adding one marker and one assist in a 4-3 overtime triumph against UMass Dartmouth on Thursday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (16-5-0, 14-3-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as they travel to Westfield State to take on the Owls in MASCAC action, starting at 7:35 PM.
