McGrath Selected MASCAC Ice Hockey Goaltender Of The Week

Worcester, Mass. native earns third weekly honor of the season 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior goaltender Brian McGrath (Worcester, Mass.) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The fourth-year Falcon posted 56 saves with a 1.92 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in a 1-0-1 week for the Green and Gold. McGrath stopped 28 shots in a 4-1 victory against Westfield State on Thursday before adding 28 saves in a 3-3, overtime draw with Worcester State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State ice hockey team (17-5-1, 15-3-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Saturday as they host the Rams of Framingham State in the MASCAC quarterfinal, starting at 5:00 PM.
