Middletown, Conn. – The Fitchburg State University men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Cardinals of Wesleyan in non-conference action this evening.

How It Happened

Freshman Kyle Burbage (Alexandria, VA) notched the only tally of the first half in the 43rd minute when he scored his first collegiate goal off a pass from classmate Joseph Ansel-Mullen (Portland, Me.).

The Cardinals scored three goals in a ten minute span to extend the score to 4-0 in the second frame. Junior Matthew Rubinstein (Forest Hills, NY) doubled the lead in the 57th minute, followed by goals from freshman Zach Wheeler (Metuchen, NJ) and classmate Tegh Singh (Warwick, NY).

  • Fitchburg State senior Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass.) posted 12 saves in the loss.
  • Senior John Javaloyes (Mansfield, Mass.) has the lone shot for the Falcons.
  • Wesleyan held the advantage in shots (31-1) and corners (18-0).
