How It Happened

The Falcons broke through the scoring first in the 8th minute. Senior Raphael Coelho (Framingham, Mass.) collected a pass from newcomer Gabriel Teixeira (Lunenburg, Mass.) tiptoed around a pair of Westfield defenders and rifled a shot inside the far post for a 1-0 lead.

The Owls tied the score in the 19th minute, when Nick Brown tipped in a cross from Matthew Allen who was streaking down the right wing.

The Green and Gold wasted little time forging ahead when Coelho notched his second goal of the frame. Junior Gabriel Ramos (Chicopee, Mass.) threaded a through pass to Coelho for his third goal of the season.

Trailing 2-1 after intermission, Westfield's Ian Jalbert scored his second of the season in the 58th minute to even the score. Once again the Falcons took the lead 3-2, when Gabriel Ramos notched his first goal of the season with an assist from Coelho.

Westfield battled back again and knotted the score 3-3 with Matthew Elmasian's first goal of the campaign. The Owls had an opportunity to end it in regulation, with just under three minutes remaining Falcons' netminder Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass.) turned back a penalty kick from Nick Brown.

The score remained 3-3 after the two overtimes as Sebastian made 5 key stops to stop the Owls attack.
