Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's soccer team fell to the Anchormen of Rhode Island College 2-0 in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Elliot Field.

How It Happened

RIC scored the frame's only goal in the seventh minute. Senior Sa-Leem Kamarah (Providence, RI) fed classmate Roman Davis (Watertown, Mass.) down the right wing where he deposited the ball inside the far post for his first goal of the season.

The Anchormen extended the lead to 2-0 at the 57:27 mark when junior Luis Blanco (Pawtucket, RI) blasted home his team-leading ninth goal.

  • RIC held the advantage in shots (23-7) and corner kicks (9-2)
  • Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass) finished with twelve saves, while Noah Dowhan  (West Greenwich, RI) had 4 stops for the win
  • Freshman Gabriel Teixeira (Lunenburg, Mass.) led the Falcons with two shots
