MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Pre-Season Poll Announced

Falcons selected second with a total of six points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's indoor track and field team was recently selected second in the 2021-22 MASCAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

            The Bears of Bridgewater State were selected as the pre-season favorite to win the 2021-22 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field crown after receiving three first place votes to amass a total of nine points.

            The Bears outdistanced Fitchburg State and Westfield State, who finished tied for second with a total of six points each, while Worcester State was slated to finish in the fourth spot after collecting three points to round out the 2021-22 MASCAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll.

            The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
