Falcons Shine At Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite
Collins, Felix, Shimiyimana & Auston net DIII NE qualifying marks
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track and field team returned to action this afternoon as they hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational from Elliot Field as they placed second overal out of 17 teams with a total of 106 points.

How It Happened
Junior Zanthius Collins (Franklin, Mass.) paced the Falcons, posting a DIII New England qualifying toss of 51.47 meters with a sixth place finish, while classmate Nathaniel Felix (Worcester, Mass.) turned in a DIII NE qualifying time of 22.48 seconds in the 200 meter after placing second overall.
Junior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester, Mass.) finished first in the triple jump with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 13.77 meters, while newcomer Shaki Auston (Springfield, Mass.) added a DIII NE qualifying mark of 13.05 meters in the triple jump with a jump of 13.05 meters.
In the 100 meter, sophomore Jeremy Allik (Natick, Mass.) (11.91) and junior Chris Morales (Lynn, Mass.) (12.94) placed fourth and seventh, while in the 1500 meter, senior Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) posted MASCAC qualifying times of 4:14.90 and 4:18.15 after finishing second and third respectively.
Auston (3rd) and Allik (5th) notched solid post-season qualifying times of 23.23 and 23.68 seconds in the 200 meter, while sophomore Zion Barber-Amado (Boston, Mass.) placed 4th in the 110 meter hurdles with a MASCAC qualifying time of 17.62 seconds.
In the 800 meter, Manyok and Sachetta placed first and second with post season qualifying times of 2:02.08 and 2:03.82, while junior Cameron Davis (Gardner, Mass.) posted a MASCAC qualifying time of 38:39.60 with a seventh place finish in the 10,000 meter.
In the field, junior Gene Bouthiette (Enfield, Conn.) turned in a MASCAC qualifying mark of 3.35 meters with a fourth place effort in the pole vault, while junior Benjamin Sacramone (Hubbardston, Mass.) posted a post-season qualifying mark of 1.78 meters in the high jump (3rd).
Shimiyimana turned in a post-season qualifying mark of 6.39 meters after finishing fifth overall in the long jump, while newcomer Cameron Cunningham (Berkley, Mass.) placed 11th in the discus with a MASCAC qualifier of 31.35 meters.
In the shot put, Collins (10th) and Cunningham (12th) turned in MASCAC qualifying marks of 12.06 meters and 11.23 meters, while Cunningham rounded out the top Falcon efforts on the day, placing sixth in the hammer throw with a post-season qualifying toss of 38.42.
