Falcons Finish Third at MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship

 

Bridgewater, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track & field team placed third overall with a total of 130 points at the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship hosted by Bridgewater State.

How It Happened
Sophomore Nicholas Zeoli (Plymouth, Mass.) led the way for the Falcons, placing first overall in the discus with a toss of 41.80 meters and the shot put (13.75m). Junior Gene Bouthiette (Bridgeport, Conn.) captured the title in the pole vault with a jump of 3.55 meters. 

Junior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester, Mass.) finished second in the triple jump (13.20m) and fifth in the long jump. Classmate Nathan Felix (Worcester, Mass.) earned a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a solid time of 10.86 seconds.

In the 110 hurdles sophomore, Zion Barber-Amardo (Boston, Mass.) placed third with a time of 15.94 seconds, and junior Benjamin Sacramone (Hubbardston, Mass.) turned in a sixth-place effort (17.28 seconds).

Sophomore Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) notched three separate second-place finishes in the 1500 meters (4:10.62), the 800 meters (1:59.99), and the 5000 meters (16:07.49).

The 4x800 relay team of Trevor Fields (Shirley, Mass.), Tyssen LaBombard, Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass.), and Manyok captured the MASCAC title with a time of 8:25.15

  • Aiden Cattelan, Sacramone, Allik, and Bueno-Campos 4th place in the 4x400 relay (3:45.76)
