Burns Paces Falcons at Purple Valley Invite

The Fitchburg State men's cross country team placed ninth at the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College at Mt. Greylock High School on Saturday afternoon.

Place: 9th place, 300 points (11 Teams)

How It Happened

Freshman Michael Burns (Worcester, Mass.) paced the Falcons team finishing 50th over the 8K course with a time of 29:42.6, while sophomore Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, Conn.) finished second for the Green and Gold.

Senior Cameron Davis (Gardner, Mass.) and senior Tyssen LaBombard (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) came through the shoot next with times of 31:21.1 and 31:54.5 respectively.

Freshman Brady Madigan (Ayer, Mass.), was fifth for the Green and Gold at 34:10.2, while classmate Omar Elmi (Worcester, Mass.), completed the course at 38:40.6

Williams won the meet with 15 points, Amherst and WPI rounded out the top three.
