Men’s Cross Country Finishes Third At MASCAC Championships
Burns collects MASCAC All-Conference Honors, placing eighth overall with a time of 28:24.19
Devens, MA – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team finished third overall at the 2023 MASCAC Championships with a total of 66 points, hosted by Worcester State this afternoon at Willard Park.

How It Happened
Sophomore Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) led the way for the Falcons, finishing eighth overall with a time of 28:24.19 over the 8K course, while junior Cristian Bueno Campos (Lawrence, MA) was next for the Green and Gold, placing 12th with a time of 28:58.48
Newcomer Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) followed in 13th place with a time of 29:22.05, while graduate student Cameron Davis (Gardner, MA) entered the chute at 29:40.59, placing 16th overall.
Sophomore Omar Elmi (Worcester, MA) registered a 19th place time of 29:55.42, while senior Tyssen LaBombard (Shelburne Falls, MA) crossed the finish line 30:47.92 (24th). Junior Casey LaCombe (South Hadley, MA) rounded out the top Falcons efforts on the day, finishing 31st overall with a time of 31:32.74.
