Grass Named MASCAC Player Of The Week
Rockland, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Molly Grass (Rockland, Mass.) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
The third-year Falcon collects her first weekly accolade on the year after batting .440 (11-for-25) with four doubles, one triple, a home run, two stolen bases, three walks, 12 RBI and eight runs scored over seven games for the Green and Gold.
Molly finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, four runs scored, five RBI and a stolen base in a 19-16 win over Dean College on Tuesday before adding a 2-for-3 effort at the dish with a double, home run, two runs scored and three RBI in an 11-2 triumph against Norwich on Friday. Grass concluded the week, going 2-for-4 with a triple and one run scored in an 8-7 setback to Medaille on Sunday.
The Fitchburg State softball team (3-4) returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Bay Path University to take on the Wildcats for a non-conference double header, starting at 1:00 PM.
