Grass Earns MASCAC Player Of The Week Honors

Rockland, Mass. native picks up second weekly honor of the year 

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Molly Grass (Rockland, Mass.) was named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year Falcon collects her second weekly accolade on the season after batting .412 (7-for-17) with four home runs, two doubles, five runs scored, 11 RBI to go along with a 1.235 slugging percentage in a 3-1 week for the Green and Gold.

Grass went a combined 2-for-7 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a double header sweep over Curry on Thursday before going 5-for-10 with three home runs, including a pair of grand slams, one double, three runs scored and nine RBI in a double header split against Westfield State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State softball team (8-9, 1-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as they host the Cougars of Clark University for a non-conference double header, starting at 3:00 PM.
