Cahill Tabbed MASCAC SOFTBALL Pitcher Of The Week

Mansfield, Mass. native picks up first weekly honor of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior pitcher Sarah Cahill (Mansfield, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The fourth-year Falcons collects her first weekly accolade on the year after allowing one earned run on six hits with nine strikeouts in the complete game effort, while going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, including the game winning walk-off two run double in a 2-1, game one triumph over Framingham State on Saturday. With her nine K's, Cahill eclipsed the 200 career strikeout mark.

The Fitchburg State Softball Team (15-22, 7-7 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to the fourth seeded Owls of Westfield State in opening round action of the 2023 MASCAC Softball Post-Season Tournament, starting at 3:30 PM.
