Hippert nets first collegiate goal for Green and Gold

Framingham, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team defeated the Rams of Framingham State University this morning in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from the Maple Street Field.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State opened the scoring at the 6:56 mark as sophomore Maddie Hippert (Leicester, Mass.) received a through ball from classmate Ashley Porter (Upton, Mass.) and tucked the ball inside the near post for her first collegiate tally to make the score 1-0.

Framingham State threatened in the 24th minute of action when graduate student Jasmine Lees (Middleboro, Mass.) fired a shot on frame, but the shot caromed of the right post to preserve the 1-0 advantage for the Falcons going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Rams put back-to-back shots on target with just under five minutes remaining in regulation as juniors Camryn O'Leary (Leicester, Mass.) and Abbie Kurtzer (Norton, Mass.) registered shots, but Falcons keeper Allison Gough (Wolcott, Conn.) turned aside both shots as the Green and Gold held on for the 1-0 final.
