Pallotta nets first collegiate goal for Green and Gold

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team defeated the Bison of Nichols College, 2-1 this afternoon in non-conference action from Elliot Field.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State opened the scoring in the 11th minute of action when junior Patricia Pallotta (Sterling, Mass.) threaded a pass of a free kick up to classmate Ashley Porter (Upton, Mass.), who tucked a shot inside the far post for her second tally on the season for the 1-0 edge.

Nichols knotted the score (1-1) with just over a second remaining in the first half as freshman Falyn Hunt (Saugus, Mass.) sprung free on a break away and buried a shot into the back of the net off an assist from junior Grace Killman (Watertown, Mass.).

Following the intermission, the Falcons regained the lead at the 53:49 mark with Pallotta settling a feed from freshman Adrianna Westcott (Sayreville, N.J.) and deposited a shot into the right side of the net for her first collegiate tally to make score 2-1.

This afternoon's contest marked the tenth meeting between the two schools on the pitch with the Falcons 4-5-0 all-time when taking on the Bison

Nichols has won the last three matchups with Fitchburg State, including a 2-0 decision last season.

Nichols finished with a slim 24-19 margin in shots, while also holding a 4-3 edge in corner kicks

Junior Skyla Vaudo (Burlington, Mass.) made nine saves, while Gough turned aside eight shot for the Falcons

Sophomore Adie Hughes (Hampden, Maine) stopped five shots for the Bison
