MASCAC Women’s Indoor Track Pre-Season Poll Announced

Falcons tabbed fourth with a total of three points

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's indoor track and field team was recently selected fourth in the 2021-22 MASCAC Pre-Season Coaches Poll as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

            The Owls of Westfield State were selected as the pre-season favorite to win the 2021-22 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field crown after collecting two of the possible four first place ballots to amass a total of eight points to outdistance second place Bridgewater State's total of seven points, which included the final two place votes.

            Finishing in third place with a total of six points was Worcester State, while Fitchburg State followed in fourth with three points to conclude the 2021-22 MASCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Preseason Poll.

            The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, the nation's oldest Division III men's and women's playing conference, has a rich and storied tradition of competitive success while celebrating excellence in the classroom. MASCAC member schools include Bridgewater State University, Fitchburg State University, Framingham State University, MCLA, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Salem State University, Westfield State University and Worcester State University. Two other institutions, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and Plymouth State University, are affiliate members of the conference in the sports of football and men's ice hockey, while Western Connecticut State University joined the conference as an affiliate member in football beginning in 2013-14.
