Camara Named MASCAC WITK Field Athlete And Rookie Of The Week

Lowell, Mass. native registers first weekly accolade of the year

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore Makany Camara (Lowell, Mass.) was recently selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Field Athlete And Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

The first year Falcon collects her first weekly honor of the 2021-22 campaign after finishing fifth overall in the high jump with a PR mark of 1.51 meters, while adding a fifth place time of 10.20 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles to set a new personal best in that event to help lead the Falcons to a seventh place finish at the 2022 Branwen Smith-King Invitational, hosted by Tufts University on Sunday.

The Fitchburg State Women's Indoor Track team returns to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2022 Bruce Lehane Scarlett & White Invitational, hosted by Boston University.
