Falcons Soar At Bruce Lehane Scarlett & White Invite

McInnis and Thompson qualify for MASCAC's in the 60 meter

Boston, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's indoor track & field team competed at the 2022 Bruce Lehane Scarlett & White Invitational, hosted by Boston University this afternoon at the BU Track and Tennis Center in a meet that featured top competition across DI, DII and DIII.

How It Happened

Graduate student Natasha McInnis (Leominster, Mass.) led the way for the Green and Gold, placing 39th overall in the 60 meter with a MASCAC qualifying time of 8.32 seconds, while sophomore Latasha Thompson (Templeton, Mass.) turned a 45th place time of 8.72 second in the 60 meter to also qualify for the post-season.

Sophomore Makany Camara (Lowell, Mass.) continued her solid 2021-22 campaign, posting a post-season qualifying time of 10.25 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles after finishing 31st overall, while classmate Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, Mass.) posted a 37th place time of 11.47 seconds in the 60 meter dash.

In the 500 meter, freshman Kathleen Messer (Mason, N.H.) finished 19th overall with a time of 1:38.33, while sophomore Joyce Arbia (Sag Harbor, N.Y) rounded out the top Falcon efforts on the afternoon in the 1000 meter, posting a time of 3:59.69 to finish 26th in the event.
