Falcons Finish Fifth at MASCAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship
Bridgewater, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's outdoor track & field team placed fifth overall with a total of 50 points at the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Championship hosted by Bridgewater State.

How It Happened
Freshman Ephemian Bailey (Maple Grove, Minn.) earned a second-place score in both the shot put (10.74m) and the discus (35.31m) earning 16 points for the Falcons at the Championship. Bailey qualified for the New England DIII meet.
The Green and Gold squad of Marjorie Veliotis (Stoughton, Mass.) , Natasha McInnis (Leominster, Mass.), Abbey Quirbach (Lowell, Mass.) and Jenna Aubuchon (Fitchburg, Mass.) finished fourth in the 4x100m relay. In the 4x800m relay team of Murphy, McAndrew, Brouilet and Quirbach captured third place with a time of 11:54.72.
In the 3000 m steeplechase junior Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.) crossed the finish in a time of 13:18.21 for third place, while classmate Courtney Brouillet (Fitchburg, Mass.) rounded out the top five (16:31.10).
Murphy ended the day with a second-place finish in the 800 meters (2:31.66) and a third-place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:09.02.
