Fitchburg State places fifth overall with 121 points
Paxton, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country competed in the 2017 Worcester City Meet this afternoon at Moore State Park, placing fifth overall with a total of 121 points.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State was led by junior Amy Kelly (Stoughton, Mass.), who placed tenth overall with a time of 21:39 to earn a top ten collegiate runner award, while senior Casey Taylor (Chelmsford, Mass.) followed in 20th place, posting a time of 22:29 over the 5K course.
Senior Shawna Ryan (Hanson, Mass.) was next, entering the chute with a time of 25:08, while sophomore Jennifer Desilvestre (Beverly, Mass.) posted a time of 27:44.
Rounding out the top seven efforts for the Green and Gold were freshman Danielle Neild (Auburn, N.H.) (31:27), classmate Isabella Denio-Miller (Washington, Ind.) (33:33) and fellow newcomer Rene Gagne (North Attleboro, Mass.) (33:34).
