Murphy Captures Title, Falcons Finish 2nd at MASCAC Championship

Senior Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) took top honors at the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Cross Country Championships to pace the Falcons' team to a second-place finish this afternoon at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State University.

How It Happened

Murphy captured the championship covering the 5K course in 19:16.25, just four seconds ahead of Nicole Major of Bridgewater State. Murphy was named the 2022 MASCAC Runner of the Year and earned MASCAC All-Conference accolades.

The Green and Gold had four runners in the top 15. Junior Lilah McAndrew (Olde Lyme, Conn) earned a MASCAC All-Conference nod with a 7th place finish with a time of 19:52.84. Rookie Skye Goba (Norton, Mass.) placed 12th (20:05.81) and senior Maria Burnett (Fitchburg, Mass.) crossed the chute in 15th (20:27.57)

Freshman Diana Marquez-Frias (Lowell, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Falcons, finishing in 33rd with a time of 21:59.48.
