Women’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth At 2023 Purple Valley Classic

Goba paces Green and Gold with 41st place time of 26:06.5

Williamstown, MA. – The Fitchburg State University women's cross country team placed sixth with a total of 183 points at the 2023 Purple Valley Classic at the Mt. Greylock Cross Country Loops, hosted by Williams College.

How It Happened

Sophomore Skye Goba (Norton, MA) led the way for the Falcons, finishing 41st overall with a time of 26:06.5 over the 5K course, while freshman Alexis Toste (Dracut, MA) was followed in 61st place with a time of 31:19.8

Newcomer Julia Arena (Shrewsbury, MA) entered the chute with a 63rd place time of 32:12.5, while sophomore Cassandra Israelson (Saugus, MA) was next with a time 36:07.0.

Senior Erin Donelan (Fitchburg, MA) registered a time of 36:07.0, while senior Stephanie Piar (Ayer, MA) rounded out the top efforts for the Green and Gold on the day with a time of 42:58.9

MIT won the 2023 Purple Valley Classic with a total of 23 points

 

Genna Girard of Williams claimed the 2023 Purple Valley Classic individual title with a first place time of 21;44.0
